The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were developed in 2000 as targets for addressing extreme poverty in its many dimensions. However, meeting these objectives has proven to be both enlightening and challenging for global leaders. As students inspired to pursue global health issues, it is imperative to take a critical look back at the progress made so far as a global community. This committee aims to:

• Engage students to question and evaluate current development models with specific regards to HIV/AIDS and Maternal Health
• Investigate and address issues of accountability in social development and health discourses through research and debate
